Dear Steve, thank you very much for such a fabulous afternoon, Everyone enjoyed your presentation The Life and Crimes of Agatha Christie so much. After you had left people were asking me if I would book you every year, compliments indeed.

Hello Steve,
Very happy with (your Walt Disney) talk. It brought back many happy memories of going to Christmas parties as a child, sitting on the floor watching cartoons in black and white. I also had requests from several people to get you to come back again.
Thank you so much, Corrie Welwyn U3A
Dear Steve
On behalf of Witney u3a, I would like to express our gratitude and appreciation for your excellent talk on Agatha Christie. I learned so much about her, and her life, and you told the story in an interesting, entertaining, and enjoyable fashion. In our discussion, you mentioned that you provide many other talks, and I hope you will keep (us)informed of these.
Thank you again for visiting us, and providing such an enjoyable presentation.
With best regards, Witney, u3a
Hello Steve,
Even though I gave a verbal “vote of thanks” I am writing to you formally, to thank you for coming to us at the last minute, after I had been informed that the Speaker we had booked had to withdraw due to family illness.
Your talk was such an interesting one – the Life and Career of Victoria Wood” – feedback from our Members was how much they enjoyed your talk about the life she had and what a brilliant lady she was, so very clever with her writings, directing and the production side of TV programmes, and so very young to pass away at the age of 62, such a loss!
I just wanted you to know that we really appreciate your “stepping in” at short notice, and we certainly look forward to your visit in December.
Best wishes
Ann Johns, Programme Secretary, Weston Favell Evening WI
Good Morning Steve,
Thank you so much for your presentation yesterday to our members. Its content was amazing and we all learnt so much as well as being entertained. We followed your talk with a quiz with one of the questions being who introduced Xmas trees to UK households. Needless to say we all got that one right!
Many thanks again and best wishes for a nice Xmas and a safe, healthy and peaceful 2022.
Best wishes,
Penicuik U3A
Morning Steve!

Hi Steve,
Thanks for your talk today which I think went down very well with our members. Gillie who thanked you from her home at the end does not suffer fools gladly, so praise from her is praise indeed.

Hi Steve,
It was good to meet you today. I hope you enjoyed your visit as much as we did. Your knowledge, humour and professionalism made it a lovely way to spend the morning.

The Wicked Wit of Alan Bennett: A Talk by Steve Dimmer
Steve Dimmer of Inflatable Theatre Co. gave a talk to the Leamington Literary Society on 12th October 2021 on the work and career of Alan Bennett. His presentation consisted largely of film, photographic and audio clips, linked by commentary from Steve, showing excerpts from plays, TV and radio programmes across the extent of AB’s life.
The whole event was stimulating and entertaining and an hour flew by. Steve is an engaging, knowledgeable and audible speaker who has full mastery of the audio-visual equipment at his disposal. This was one of the most enjoyable as well as informative talks that our society has hosted for some time. We hope to invite Steve back next year for a talk on Roald Dahl.

Good morning, Steve,
Just a belated message to say how much we all enjoyed your presentation to us on Tuesday, one of the best we’ve had I think. I’ve lost count of the number of people who’ve since told me how enjoyable & interesting it was.
Best wishes

Steve
Absolutely loved your talk and I can tell you now I’m not a great fan of Carry on films….
I wish the attendance had been higher as it will be one of those “you should have been there talks”.
Could you let me have a list of your other talks?
Buckingham U3A
I enjoyed the talk – I thought I was all Agatha Christied out, with it being a topic of our Literature Group recently and several programmes on TV about her, however you highlighted several things I didn’t know, or perhaps had forgotten about and I found myself paying attention the whole way through (very unlike me!)
I was interested in a few of the other subjects you cover and no doubt Keith will be in touch at some time about a repeat booking.

Good Morning Steve
Just to say what a fantastic presentation this morning, very professional and very informative, I learned so much, everyone present at the presentation will have learned a lot more about Agatha Christie.
So interesting the time flew by, I will certainly be in touch with you for further presentations, zoom does have its advantages, my thinking is at general meetings we could project the presentation onto a larger screen, and have the opportunity to give a wider choice of talks.
On behalf of all our members that viewed the presentation a huge thank you, and for those that missed it, they missed a treat.
best wishes

Good Morning Steve
Thank you so much for coming along to our meeting last night. You certainly entertained us with all the anecdotes about Victoria Wood. You no doubt realised how much we enjoyed seeing all the clips which brought back memories of some favourite scenes. We were laughing despite knowing what was coming!
I will have a look at your web site to see what other talks you do and no doubt contact you again before too long.
Once again, many thanks for bring cheer to such an unpleasant evening outside.
Kind regards
Doreen Hartwell. Kislingbury Friendship Group
Hi Steve
Thank you for today – that was the quietest that they have ever been! Great response.
Many thanks – a pleasure doing business with you!

Hi Steve
Thanks once again for the Victorian Gothic Tales presentation yesterday. It was really excellent and took me back to many different times in my life when they cropped up in one way or another – from the Mysteries of Udolpho (?) mentioned in Northanger Abbey (my A level text in 1975), to the Hammer Horror movies that I would never watch for fear of being terrified (far too vivid an imagination!) and on to those tales about the black dog that I told the children on our visits to Whitby. Such fun!
Many folk mentioned how much they enjoyed your talk and how much they’d like a return visit. I’m hoping to begin sorting out next year’s talks over the next month or two, so I’m sure I’ll be in touch again soon. Will take a look at the list again.
Hope you had a good journey home.
All the best

Steve Dimmer came to Abington Library to give a talk about the life and times of Agatha Christie, to a large group of our customers. Everyone commented on how entertaining and informative the talk had been and how they would love to attend more of his talks in the future. We have had Steve at Abington Library, on many occasions, in various roles and he is always extremely professional, and therefore very popular and we would heartily recommend him.
Hello Steve, Firstly a big thank you for the wonderful talk you gave our group on Tony Hancock. We have had a lot of positive feedback. Our members really enjoyed it.
Regards.

Dear Steve
Well I must say you did us proud on Wednesday. Everyone was really
delighted with your talk, so thank you very much indeed. Even more so as
you stepped in at very short notice. To fill the hall with laughter
was such as pleasure after all the miserable news we keep hearing on tv
and radio, so “carry on” with the good work. I look forward to getting
in touch again next year before you talk to us again. Once again many,
many thanks.
Best wishes
Gwen
Hi Steve,
I would like to thank you for the delightful presentation you delivered yesterday to our general meeting of Sutton Bridge U3A. I have also had several members contact me expressing their appreciation of your interesting and well researched look into the life and crimes of the great lady. I especially enjoyed the snippets of film you included showing the actresses who played Miss Marple as well as actors who played Hercule Poiret over the years. Well done !
Best wishes,
Norman T. Redican

Hi Steve.
The re-action to your talk this afternoon was overwhelmingly positive with adjectives such as ‘fabulous’, ‘fascinating’ and ‘really impressive’ being bandied around. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it.
Thanks again for a super afternoon.
Kind regards

Hello Steve,
I just wanted to say a huge ‘Thank You’ for coming to give Rugby Floral Society a talk about Victoria Woods, last Thursday, 18th January. Our members thoroughly enjoyed all your pictures, clips of her plays/ films and the amazing story of Victoria. You certainly know a lot about her which was thoroughly enjoyable.
Thank you again for your entertaining information and we hope to see you again in the future.
Best wishes.

Hi Steve,
Thank you SO much for a truly informative and entertaining evening and also for the extra tips with Zoom. All the ladies really enjoyed the subject and your interesting visual presentation. Dear Steve, Thank you so much for coming to Market Harborough yesterday to give the Historical Society Remembrance tide talk on stories from the Great War. After four years of commemorations it was refreshing to learn of some of the curious events of that war such as the origin of the use of the word Tank for a fighting machine You gave us an interesting talk with many things to think about and ponder on. Thank you again for your interesting talk, Rosalind M Willatts
Hi Steve, just want to thank you for coming to Weston Favell WI. We all enjoyed it and learnt a lot. I will be in touch in the spring and hopefully you can come again next year. Thanks again.
Dear Steve, Just a quick note to thank you very much indeed for your most interesting talk about Sherlock Holmes and Conan Doyle at Spratton last night. We all thoroughly enjoyed learning about the background to the famous man and his creator. We especially enjoyed the film clips and the drawings. I didn’t realise that the artist created the image with the deerstalker hat and pipe, rather than the author. I have had lots of comments this morning in the village from members who said how much they enjoyed the evening. We all especially appreciated your careful preparation and clear presentation, with a few adding how wonderful it was to be able to hear every word you said! We usually put together our programme for the year about February, so Hazel will no doubt be in touch with you about visiting Spratton again. With best wishes, Enid Jarvis (Chair, Spratton Local History Society)
Hi Steve, I just want to thank you for your very entertaining talk to us last Wednesday. I have had a lot of good feedback particularly with regard to the way you interwove pictures of the various actors playing the famous detectives into the story. I hope you will come back to us one day, Kind regards Graham. (Towcester U3A)
Wendover U3A thoroughly enjoyed Steven’s adaptation of “A Christmas Carol “ by Charles Dickens. Steven was able to adapt his voice to the many characters and gave us a very enjoyable presentation. (Wendover U3A)
Steve gave our fellowship meeting an excellent rendition of “A Christmas Carol” – very appropriate for this time of the year! He was dressed for the part and had super props’ to create a realistic atmosphere. Steve took on all the character voices of Charles Dickens famous novel and gave a wonderful performance that deserved his rapturous applause at the close. (St Andrews Fellowship Club, Northampton)
Thank you so much for your visit to us at Higham & Rushden U3A. Wonderful story which you brought to life so well! We had 198 present. Positive feed back by so many. (Rushden U3A)
Hi Steve thanks for a wonderful evening at Knuston Hall last Thursday. Each time we come to one of your talks/entertainment evenings or lunches we leave feeling refreshed and relaxed – obviously this has nothing to do with the wine. It is an absolute joy going to Knuston, and living in Rushden we are regular visitors with our friends and always look forward to your talks. Many thanks, Veronica
